America’s fixation with Susan Boyle shows no sign of relenting as last night the BGT sensation invited The Oprah Winfrey Show into her West Lothian home.
Susan chatted to chat-show queen Oprah via a live satellite link, which beamed millions of stateside fans into her cosy living room.
She played down talk of her being the clear cut winner of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent and paid tribute to her fellow competitors:
“I have every chance [of winning], but at the same time there is a lot of other talent in the competition, so I’m willing to take my place with them. There’s a lot of other talent on the show”
The interview was part one of a two-stage special entitled The World’s Got Talent, and the Oprah audience were even provided with subtitles to help them understand Susan’s mild Scottish accent… bless ‘em.
During the chat Susan denied she felt lonesome: “Oh no I’m not lonely, everyone has been so nice… I’ve got millions of new friends now!”
Oprah was joined by Simon Cowell who came on to discuss Susan’s meteoric rise to fame, from her record-breaking YouTube adventure to her numerous appearances on US television.
“It was the most surreal thing that ever happened,” said Simon before revealing that the magic of Susan’s audition will live with him forever:
“Just to see that look of satisfaction on her face mid-way through, which is, ‘I’m winning now.’ It was one of my favourite moments.”
The BGT contest is far from over with top class acts emerging as contenders every week… Who are your favourites of the series so far? Leave your comment below.
